Katie is originally from New York where she graduated from Manhattan College in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and in 1997 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. She then made her way out to sunny California, working as an engineer for several years before deciding to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. Katie graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

Following veterinary school, Katie completed a one-year internship in Emergency and Critical Care in Annapolis, Maryland. She worked in several referral and specialty veterinary hospitals as an emergency vet before moving to the UK in 2011. Since 2011, Katie has been working in small animal general practice.
Katie has completed a certification course in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and member of (IVAS) and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncture (ABVA).
